The lake water flows out at the southwest estuary and is called Tanglang River, which is the upper source of the Pudu River, a tributary of the Jinsha River in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Dianchi Lake boasts beautiful scenery, surrounded by scenic spots such as Yunnan Ethnic Village, Yunnan Ethnic Museum, Xishan Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Sanqing Pavilion, Longmen, Qiongzhu Temple, Daguanlou, Jinning Panlong Temple, and Zhenghe Park. The resort covers an area of 18 square kilometers.
