Some people call the drum tower the "ethnic emblem" of the Dong people, some people call it the "heart" of the Dong village, and the Dong people have always said that "building a tower before building a village". The Republic of China edition of "Sanjiang County Chronicles" records: "All villages have built drum towers, which are like towers, with large pillars supporting them, and some are as high as four or five meters.
