Kaifeng Daxiangguo Temple, formerly known as Jianguo Temple, is the place where Lu Zhishen uprooted a weeping willow in "Water Margin". In the sixth year of Tianbao (555), Emperor Wenxuan of the Northern Qi Dynasty, the temple was founded; in the first year of Tang Yanhe (712), Emperor Ruizong Li Dan of the Tang Dynasty renamed the temple "Xiangguo Temple" in order to commemorate his accession to the throne from King Xiang as emperor. The plaque "Daxiangguo Temple" was written. Daxiangguo Temple reached its unprecedented peak during the Northern Song Dynasty and was a royal temple at that time. Most of the buildings in today's Daxiangguo Temple were rebuilt in recent years. The size of the temple is also much smaller than it was back then. After entering the temple gate, there are the King's Palace, the Main Hall, the Octagonal Glazed Palace (Arhat Hall), the Sutra Library, etc. At present, there are no statues of gods in the Daxiong Hall of Daxiangguo Temple. There are often cultural relics displays and cultural and art exhibitions here. Surrounding the main hall are bluestone poles. Visitors can see dozens of vivid little lions carved on the bluestone poles.
