In the east, the Qinhuai River starts from Dongshuiguan, Huaiqing Bridge, Qinhuaishui Pavilion, crosses Wende Bridge, and reaches the inner Qinhuai River area where Zhonghuamen Castle extends straight to Xishuiguan. For 1,800 years, the Qinhuai River has always been busy with traffic, and is known as the "Ten Mile Pearl Curtain". The Qinhuai River, with the Confucius Temple as the center, has the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a multi-purpose tourist attraction integrating culture, tourism, commerce, and services with a temple, city, and street scene. The Qinhuai River is a tributary of the Yangtze River, with a total length of about 110 kilometers. It is the ancient name of the main river in Nanjing - Huai River, and its original name is "Longzangpu". It is said that when the first emperor of Qin Dynasty visited the east, he saw the purple air rising above Jinling. He thought it was the king's air, so he cut a square mountain and cut off a long ridge to create a dam and entered the river. Later generations mistakenly believed that this water was opened during the Qin Dynasty, so it was called "Qinhuai". . The Qinhuai River is the cradle of Nanjing's ancient civilization. As far back as the Stone Age, there have been human activities in the basin. The two sides of the river from Dongshuiguan to Xishuiguan have been the residential areas of prosperous commercial areas since Soochow. During the Six Dynasties, it became a place where famous families gathered, merchants gathered, literati gathered, and Confucianism flourished. After the Sui and Tang Dynasties, it gradually declined, but it attracted countless literati and poets to come here to pay their respects, chanting that "in the old days, the kings gave birth to the swallows in front of the hall, and they flew into the homes of ordinary people." In the Song Dynasty, it gradually recovered and became the cultural and educational center of Jiangnan. The Ming and Qing dynasties were the heyday of Shili Qinhuai. The golden powder pavilions are lined up in rows; the painted boats are rippling in the waves, and the sound of lights and shadows form a dreamlike and beautiful spectacle. For thousands of years, the Qinhuai River has nurtured the ancient city of Nanjing. "The spring breeze comes ten miles away, and thousands of houses open by the river." The river house near the Confucius Temple is decorated with silk windows, ten miles of bead curtains, and the prosperity of light boats, which is the best in the world. . In 1984, taking advantage of the spring breeze of reform and opening up, the Qinhuai Scenic Area of Confucius Temple began to be rebuilt. After more than ten years of hard work, more than 1 billion have been invested to restore and build more than 20 places, including Dacheng Hall, Mingde Hall, Zunjing Pavilion, Jiangnan Gongyuan, Wuyi Lane, Wang Xie Ancient Residence, and Wu Jingzi’s Former Residence, and more than 300,000 yuan. Square meters of ancient buildings, pavilions, terraces, towers, pavilions and halls are well-proportioned, red, yellow, blue, white and black complement each other. "Blue bricks, small tiles, horse head walls, cloisters with hanging lattice windows", reproduce the Ming and Qing Dynasties The street style of Jiangnan, the landscape of ancient Qinhuai River halls and river houses, and the culture of the Six Dynasties, Ming and Qing Dynasties have been further excavated and displayed. A number of distinctive market groups have been formed, including small commodities, antiques, calligraphy and paintings, flowers, birds, fish and insects, etc., and have become one of the commercial centers of Nanjing.
