Qixing Lake is located in the hinterland of the Kubuqi Desert in Hangjin Banner, Ordos City. The Qixing Lake Scenic Area covers a total area of 920 hectares, including 380 hectares of water area, 40.7 hectares of reed wetland area, 380 hectares of grassland area, and 384 hectares of desert area. Qixing Lake is a lake impacted by the old course of the Yellow River. Because the seven lakes are distributed in the shape of the Big Dipper, it is named "Qixing Lake", hence the saying "Big Dipper in the sky and Qixing Lake on the ground". Among them, the three lakes of Zhahan Daotu, Dongda Daotu and Daotu (also called Yike Daotu) are collectively called Daotu Lake. This is a magical legend that gives them a romantic color. It is said that there was a kind of buffalo here in the past. The bird has eyes like a rice bowl, limbs like wooden rafters, and a body like a cow. It hovers in the air as light as a feather, and its cry is like a cow roaring, making a "moo" sound.
