Because of the towering twin towers in the temple, it was named by common people. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the eminent monk Foden was ordered to build it. The main buildings in the existing temple are all made of brick. The main hall and the east and west side halls are built with blue bricks and imitated wood structures. They have eaves columns, brackets and tile eaves. The carvings are refined, rich and exquisite. The main hall is a two-story pavilion with double eaves and a built-in brick caisson, which is exquisite and elegant. There are two brick towers on the side of the temple, named Wenxuan. It is octagonal in plan, with thirteen levels, and is 54.7 meters high. It has brackets carved under the eaves and glazed beasts on the eaves, which is gorgeous and spectacular. There is a ladder in the tower, and you can climb to the top floor and look out the window, and you can clearly see the scenery of Taiyuan. When people come in and out of Taiyuan, the Twin Pagoda Temple is the first thing that comes into view and has become the symbol of Taiyuan. There are peonies everywhere in the temple, with old branches and luxuriant leaves.
