Daming Temple is located on the verdant peak of Shugang Mountain, and was originally built during the Liu Song period of the Southern Dynasty. The palace is grand, with lush flowers and trees. Master Jianzhen of the Tang Dynasty once presided over this temple, preaching scriptures and laws. In ancient times, there was a nine story Qiling Pagoda built in the temple. Great poets such as Li Bai, Bai Juyi, and Liu Yuxi have all appeared to compose poems and spread them as beautiful stories. Established during the Ming Dynasty of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty (457-464 AD), the temple was named after a certain era. When Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1736-1795) visited this temple, he personally inscribed the mountain name "Fajing Temple" and renamed it "Fajing Temple". It has now been restored to "Daming Temple". The Ouyang Xiu Temple, located on the west side of the Jianzhen Memorial Hall, is an ancient architecture with a southern flavor. Inside the hall, there are stone carvings and portraits of Ouyang Xiu. The Pingshan Hall, located on the west side of Daming Temple, was built by Ouyang Xiu in the 8th year of the Qingli reign of the Northern Song Dynasty (1048). He drank, enjoyed the scenery, and wrote poetry here. Due to its appearance parallel to the distant mountains in southern Jiangnan, it is named Pingshantang.

Pingshantang is a relatively quiet place within the jurisdiction of Daming Temple, with a style of literati architecture. Jianzhen Memorial Hall is located in the east of the the Shakya ManiHall of Daming Temple in the northwest of Yangzhou. Master Jianzhen of the Tang Dynasty, who overcame difficulties and traveled eastward, was a pioneer in cultural exchange between China and Japan. The Jianzhen Memorial Hall, designed under the leadership of Liang Sicheng, is a Tang Dynasty style building. The foundation was laid in 1963 on the 1200th anniversary of Jianzhen's passing, and it was completed in 1973. The main hall features a Jianzhen seated statue made of dry lacquer and stored on the Sumeru pedestal, with closed eyes and a resolute and peaceful expression. This memorial hall includes the main hall, stele pavilion, entrance hall, exhibition room, etc. The construction of the main hall of the memorial hall is based on the design of the golden hall of Tang Zhaoti Temple in Japan. This set of buildings is the work of Mr. Liang Sicheng, a famous modern Chinese architect, during his lifetime. Xiyuan is located to the west of Pingshantang. This garden is open and rugged, unique among Yangzhou gardens. The Western Garden is built on top of Shugang, surrounded by undulating hills. There is a large pond in the garden, where swimming fish can be counted. The famous one in the park is the "Fifth Spring in the World", and most tourists who come here enjoy the new tea brewed with the water from the Five Springs.
