Reasons to visit

Ranwu Lake is close to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. It is a barrier lake formed by landslides and mudslides blocking the river 200 years ago. It is also the source of the Parlung Zangbo River, a tributary of the Yarlung Zangbo River. Depending on the season, the lake water presents several colors such as blue or green. There are many rocks and islands dotted in the river. The lake surface is swaying in spring and misty in autumn and winter. The beauty of the four seasons will make people enter a dreamland. The tranquility and blueness of Ranwu Lake are well-known far and wide. There are very few dead branches and debris in the lake, and the scenery around the lake is different. Ranwu Lake is very colorful, with autumn leaves in the grassland, forests, white waterfowl and colorful pebbles on the lakeshore, which are as fresh as a mirror reflection. Ranwu is divided into three lakes: upper, middle and lower. The upper lake is more beautiful, followed by the middle lake, and the lower lake is the third. From Basu to Ranwu, before entering Ranwu Town, there is a dirt road leading to Zayu beside the Ranwu Bridge. Driving about 8 kilometers will reach the upper Ranwu Lake. Exit Ranwu Town and drive towards Bomi for 10 kilometers to reach Xia Ranwu Lake.
