Tianyige Museum is located in the west of Ningbo City, covering an area of 25,000 square meters and a construction area of 8,400 square meters. The whole museum is composed of three major areas: book collection and cultural area, garden leisure area, and display and exhibition area. The library cultural area (North District), with Tianyige Library as the core, includes Dongming Thatched Cottage, Fan's Former Residence, Zunjing Pavilion, Mingzhou Stele Forest, and Qianjinzhai. Tianyi Pavilion is a national key cultural relic protection unit and the earliest existing library in my country. The garden leisure areas, namely East Garden and South Garden, were newly established after liberation. The East Garden was opened to the public in October 1986; the South Garden was completed in 1997. It is clear, quiet, elegant and cheerful. The display and exhibition area (south area) is mainly composed of the Qin family's ancestral hall and calligraphy and painting hall, including Furongzhou and Wen family ancestral hall, with the main content of displaying Ningbo's history, culture and calligraphy and painting art.
